Will The Ipad replace my desktop computer?

Here is the thing, I can get about $250-$300 for my desktop computer. I never print anything, so that’s not an issue, and I have a desktop all day at work that can print and do anything else I want. But I want to replace my desktop at home for an iPad. I have Wi-Fi in my house, so will the iPad work with that regardless if I have a computer hooked up? I am thinking about the iPad 1 16gb Wifi model, I can get one for $350. I don’t see the need for an Ipad 2, I don’t care about the cameras. I will be using it for web browsing, youtube, movies, word documents, e-mail, games and a few other things.

All tablet have either a wifi or 3g/4g option or both and tablets can’t replace desktops but are great for traveling sitting around the house playing games and reading very light weight but have limitations then a regular desktop you can upgrade a laptop but really not a tablet ,also get a new ipad already brought some refurb products less than a month on some they broken down or had errors might get lucky with a refurb ipad and last for awhile, keyboards for ipad are a little high and look at the apple store for other acessories
